Frequently Asked Questions
(Click for Answers)

What construction and repairs will occur?

SageWater will remove the siding (for exterior access) or drywall (for interior access) as needed to access the current hurricane straps. Once the affected areas are accessible, SageWater crews will complete the engineered repair based on the design of your home. This will involve removing existing rusted strap hold-downs and installing new bolt hold-downs as specified by the engineer. Crews will repair concrete spalling caused by existing rusted strap anchors as required. Finally, our team will complete cosmetic repairs including siding, drywall, and paint to return your home back to its original finished condition, per the settlement protocols.

What is this going to cost?

We will repair the defective materials and restore those areas at no cost to you. Note: If you have upgraded anything in your home from the original construction, and it is determined that it is obstructing the construction repairs, it will be the homeowner’s responsibility to provide access to the hurricane straps requiring repair in the restricted area.

How long will it take to complete the repairs on my home?

We estimate most of the repairs will be complete in 5-6 days. Duration will vary on your home model and garage configuration.

Do I have to be home during the repairs?

No, SageWater will coordinate how to gain access to the home if you notify us in advance.

What time of day can I expect the work to commence?

We plan to begin the work at 8 am, and finish each day around 5 pm. Note: Depending on the phase of the repairs, we may be working in/around the home for the entire day or just a few hours.

How does SageWater guarantee safety & security while working on the home?

The SageWater Project Manager supervises the repair process, and all of our in-house crews are background checked, drug tested, e-verified, and trained to treat your possessions with the utmost care.

Do we need to move anything in preparation for the work?

I have pets, what do I need to do?

Pets should be secured in the home, not the backyard.

Can my kids stay unattended during the work?

If it is determined that the work must be done from the inside, for your peace of mind, children under the age of 18 may not be left unattended while we are working on the inside of your house.

Do I need to move my car or arrange for parking during construction?

Yes, if it is determined we will be working in the garage, please arrange to park on the street or in guest parking.

What will I need to move around the staging areas in the garage?

Where will the siding be stored overnight?

Siding will be piled and secured alongside the home.

Will SageWater restore the affected interior and exterior paint?

Yes, we will use the AOAO-specified exterior home color. For interior painting, if you provide a paint sample, it will help us better provide a match. Garage interiors will be finished, primed, and paint ready.
